Tabuk Castle was erected on the old road that connects Damascus to Madinah. Its benefits varied, as its towers were used for monitoring and guarding, and it was a major station for pilgrims to Masjid Al-Haram, as well as for trade and travel caravans, which led to the growth and prosperity of the region's economy.

Its construction dates back to 1559. It is characterized by its beautiful architectural style. It has been restored several times in previous eras, and Saudi Arabia has given it special attention, restoring it twice to become an attractive area for tourists and researchers today.

Archaeological Artifacts and Facilities of Tabuk Castle

Tabuk Castle contains a number of archaeological inscriptions, old photographs, and heritage exhibits that tell historical and Islamic events in the Tabuk region, in addition to a room dedicated to showing documentary films.

The castle consists of two floors and an open courtyard.

The first floor includes a mosque, a well, eight rooms, an internal staircase leading to the upper floor, another staircase leading to the castle's towers, additional rooms, and a mosque with an open ceiling.

In the southwest corner of the castle, you will find Ain Al-Sukkar, a spring that provided thousands of pilgrims with fresh water.

Places Worth Visiting Near Tabuk Castle

Opposite Tabuk Castle, you will find Tabuk Attraction Mud House, where you can explore ancient artifacts. Just 500 meters away from the castle, you will find Al Tawba Mosque, where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed, and which has now become a tourist attraction. If you want to buy some souvenirs, you can visit the public market in Tabuk, which is five-minutes away.
